Halloween is a great family-friendly holiday, but it does involve young children roaming the streets at night. Even if you are planning on being with your children every step of the way, safety is something every parent and caregiver should thinking about. Here are a few tips for creating a safe and securing environment when Halloween.
Stay well lit: most people are worried about spoiled candy or child abductors on Halloween, but one huge concern that can slip your mind is traffic. Hoards of children will be crossing street and walking into traffic. Be sure to stay well lit with flashlights and anything else that will keep your little ones lit.
Plan your route: know where you are going to trick-or-treat and create a meeting area with your kids just incase someone gets lost. Visiting your trick-or-treating area during the day is a great way to get acquainted with the route.
Avoid mask: costumes with masks are difficult to see in, so try to avoid theses. Masks will only cause your kids to trip, fall, or get separated from the group.
